My New Year's Resolutions Are "Crappie"

Ok, we all have new year's resolutions, don't we.  Some innate desire for new beginnings - to put the past behind us.  For me, this is just another chance of failure, in my opinion.  Why do we do this to ourselves??  Ok, if "failing to plan," means "planning to fail", why do all of us - most of us - make up these wild intentions, with no plan to execute them.  For example:  I want to be thinner!!  Ok, but how are you going to do that??  Last year you joined a gym that you are still paying for but only went once.  When, through the front doors, you saw all of the gorgeous women in there and you turned around and went home.  My point is, there was no plan!!  Here is how it should've worked - If you want to be thinner, just drop soda first, including diet soda.  That's it.  One little goal to give you confidence to achieve the next little goal which would be the exercising part.  Now the exercising would include you getting a personal trainer to keep you motivated or just walking with a friend - fast forward a couple of months and you are 2 jean sizes thinner.

Second, we try to do too many things at once!!  There is no way that we can accomplish all of these newly envisioned ideals in the first month.  Let's choose one thing at a time.

My New Year's Resolutions are "Crappie."  A Crappie is a North American male fish who builds a nest and watches over or guards his little caviars until they are born.  My resolution for this year is simple, I want the patience and tenacity of this Crappie fish.  I want to build a nest for my family one little goal at a time, and watch over it with patience until I have accomplished those goals one at a time.  I am an overachiever and have an overwhelming amount of dreams, with an overwhelming amount of failure.  I'm sick of it.  I am coming to the realization that I cannot accomplish what the Cat in the Hat accomplished.  I cannot hold so many things in my hand and have so many hats and still be successful.  I have learned through this attached video that I will realize success when I deliberately and intentionally choose one goal and work toward that goal until it is accomplished.  In short, I want to be a "crappie"success.  Let's choose one resolution at a time, break it down into little attainable goals and guard it and work at it until it is accomplished.   I'm Just Sayin'
